The Art of Teese Down Under

Queen of Burlesque, M.A.C Viva Glam spokesperson, and ex-Mrs Marilyn Manson (phew!) will attend Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) in Sydney as part of her Lipteese World Tour. Ms. Von Teese will include a round of commercial appearances, followed by a special event due to take place on the first night of RAFW, Monday 30th April. The “Lipteese” show will make its Australian debut at an invitation-only event at the Foundation Hall in the Museum of Contemporary Art. Throughout the week, the fashion icon and author will also attend a select number of fashion shows as a Guest Fashion Editor of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. Says Dita about the MAC collaboration: “Through my Lipteese tour, I’m combining two of my passions – burlesque performance coupled with a commitment to spreading the word about the importance of HIV prevention. I’m thrilled that my work with M.A.C Cosmetics and The M.A.C AIDS Fund allows me to come to Australia to raise awareness in a provocative, attention-getting way.”

Living La Dolce Vita And The Essence of Rockstars

Jetlagged, tanned and back on track with a few new fabulous fashion pieces... That our absence online was all for a good reason should be obvious. Not only has the one-month-holiday been a great escape from the cool Aussie Winter, but it’s also been fantastic to take part in some good European culture again, like cray fish parties with friends for instance.

Meanwhile, the celeb world is going totally crazy. We’re talking about the fragrance frenzy of course. There’s Posh and Becks’ new “stinker”. There are rumours of Lindsay Lohan’s own fragrance. Oh, and there’s the essence of Paul Stanley & co (shudder to think what that perfume smells like). Now, who would’ve thought the old KISS members would come up with something like that? No really, we don’t mean to be nasty here...

The fact that “Intimately”, Vic and Dave’s own fragrance line, has been described as a “stinker” shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Yes, we’re admitting, we’d love to receive a sample. So sue us... The much-anticipated fragrance made its way to UK’s Superdrug a couple of days ago. Receiving further unimpressive reviews, their new scent will have caused a stir in the Beckhams palace. Perhaps Vic and hubby should’ve consulted Über nose, Luca Turin, before plastering their names on a fragrance less than wonderful? The French-Italian scent expert is the author of “The Secret of Scent”, a real page turner for perfume enthusiasts. His blog is worth reading too.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Versace

He still thinks he's ugly, or at least that's what he tells the girls.” The lead-in comment, published in an article on Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ fan website, suggests that the 29-year-old Irish heartthrob is a modest character whose personal view on life hasn’t changed much since starring in Mission: Impossible 3. As the article develops, the journalist reveals another, less discreet side indicating that the county Cork boy, who was brought up in a tiny council flat, turned down a Prada advert some years ago. “It wasn't enough money!” Rhys Meyers admits, and continues that money is a “hugely important” issue for him these days.

As Vogue presents Rhys Meyers as the new face of Versace today, one can only assume that he must have given the whole actor-turns-model appearance a second thought. Photographed by Mario Testino in a New York studio in April, the portfolio of images will run worldwide in select fashion and lifestyle magazines from August onwards.

Nicole Kidman's Urban Legend

Manly-citizens won’t have missed the spectacle outside the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in Manly this afternoon. The place where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban exchanged rings, was filled with 230 of their closest family and friends. Among the guests were actress Naomi Watts, director Baz Luhrmann, Russell Crowe, and Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch, etc.

Nicole Kidman was wearing an ivory gown, designed by Nicolas
Ghesquière for Balenciaga. The couple, who will live in Urban’s Nashville estate in Tennessee, plan to head off on their honeymoon in Fiji in the next few days. Time for Keith to hang up his stetson and spurs now, isn't it?
