The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Skechers and Guess must have been kicking themselves with the bad reviews they’ve received from the press on their tasteful adverts with Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton. And to add insult to injury, the organisation “The Advertising Women of New York” have named the flesh-baring commercials as the worst advertisement of the year. Read the full story here. Their ‘Bad Award’ has been handed out to Skechers advertisement with Aguilera, whilst the winner of the ‘Ugly Award’ was no one less than Paris Hilton's appearance for Guess. Sometimes the world is full of surprises.

I've hated the Sketchers ads since the day I saw them. They were just unbelivably skanky and bore an unfortunate resemblance to porn DVD covers.
The Guess ads are not as terrible, but I did find them rather garish.
Well, the Sketchers once was very ugly to be honest..but I don't really mind the guess one. I mean it looks like almost any ad these days ;-)
Michael [my boyfriend alias "him indoors"]said something like "...Paris Hilton's punchable face isn't doing any favours for Guess". I think that the adverts are just getting more and more disgraceful every day - as Crankybiscuit said re Skechers, very porn film cover like. The fact that they probably want to catch peoples attention is irrelevant. It's not stylish and Guess ad is not gonna win the traditional Guess clientele. But perhaps that's what Guess is after, a slightly new company image?
Those Hilton ads were really bad. Really bad. What were they thinking? Guess already has image problem and who do they pick as their face? The queen of trash Paris. I'm so glad they got slapped.
